This is a supplementary scheme to the Afforestation scheme.
The payment rates are a top up on the existing afforestation premiums.

Tax – Free Premium of up to 773/Ha (313 per Acre) on forestry planted on REPS farms.
- Must plant minimum of 8 ha in up to 3 plots anywhere on the farm to enter F.E.P.S
- Landowners must be in R.E.P.S or agree to enter R.E.P.S within 1 year to avail of F.E.P.S
- As in R.E.P.S must select 6 measures from a menu of 19 options
- Stacking : Plant up to 50% of the farm and retain full Single Payment Entitlement.
- Free Forest Establishment, Afforestation Grants cover all costs of Establishing and maintaining plantations for the first 4 years.
- Qualification criteria: All landowners with Herd Number, R.E.P.S Number, Flock Number etc. qualify.
- Income thresholds and 70 mile limit rules abolished
- Landowner remains 100% owner of both the land and the crop
- Landowner can give permission to another family member to plant land under Joint Management Consent, Particularly Relevant in regards to the Early Retirement Scheme.
