Forwood is a joint venture between Forestry Services Ltd and Eastlog Harvesting Ltd, an associate company of Woodfab Timber Ltd. This is the first and only joint venture of its kind in Ireland.
Mission Statement
To effectively manage on a silvicultural and financial basis conifer crops for private growers, ensuring that short-term gains are avoided in order to increase the value of the forest and maximize returns at clear felling stage. The principles of Sustainable forest management and the code of best forest practice will be adhered to at all times.
This type of full rotation management over the life of the current crop, is based on the sharing of profits from harvesting between the forest owner and Forwood. There is no annual fee for being a member of Forwood.
This system is structured to ensure both the owners and Forwood’s Goals are aligned to reaching the clear felling stage as quickly as possible and consequently maximizing returns.
This group type system of selling logs will significantly reduce administration difficulties for sawmill purchasers, which will lead to price premiums as Volumes of timber for sale increases.

- First and subsequent thinning operated on a commission basis of net profit on timber sales ranging for 10 to 20%
